Jesse Huff

January 4, 1984 to December 25, 1990

Jesse Huff was appointed the Director of Finance by Governor George Deukmejian on January 4, 1984. He was born in Los Angeles, California, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Chapman College, a master’s degree in political science from the University of California, Riverside, and Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. Huff also served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970.

Huff held various executive positions in the Department of Finance before he was appointed Director. Before working at Finance, he served in several legislative positions. He was the Principal Consultant to the Senate Minority Finance Committee from 1979 to 1982, a Liaison Officer for the Joint Legislative Budget Committee from 1978 to 1979, and a Staff Director for the Minority Caucus Chairman in 1978.
