Planning and Activities

  • 2030 Census Operations Strategy and Roadmap.  This site describes the method for the operational design for the 2030 Census and outlines the program's principles and program assumptions.
  • 2030 Census Redistricting Data Program. The 2030 Census Redistricting Data Program provides states the opportunity to delineate voting districts and to suggest census block boundaries for use in the 2030 Census redistricting data tabulations (Redistricting Data [Public Law 94-171] Summary File).
    • The Block Boundary Suggestion Project (BBSP) is Phase I of the U.S. Census Bureau's Redistricting Data Program. The BBSP allows states to suggest geographic features for defining census tabulation blocks to better reflect local communities and administrative boundaries. Below is the updated BBSP timeline:

  • 2030 Census Local Update of Census Addresses Operation (LUCA). LUCA provides tribal, state, and local governments the only opportunity to review and comment on the Census Bureau’s residential address list for their jurisdiction prior to the 2030 Census.
