Sacramento’s temperate climate, vibrant arts, excellent culinary scenes, reasonably-priced homes, diversity, outdoor activities, and proximity to the Bay Area, wine country, and Tahoe make it a great place to live.

Because the city sits at the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers and is located only an hour west of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, Sacramento residents take advantage of the many opportunities for outdoor activity, such as cycling and running along the American River bikeways, fishing and boating on the rivers, skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and year-round mountain biking, hiking, and camping.

Nicknamed the City of Trees, Sacramento is well-known for its tree-lined streets, parks, and older neighborhoods. It has several great neighborhoods with reasonably-priced homes that range from the charm and historical beauty of homes built in the 40’s to new developments. Midtown Sacramento is a short and convenient walk to downtown and a great place to live for young professionals as it is home to many restaurants, bars, local breweries, community theatres, and art galleries. Sacramento is also at the forefront of the Farm-to-Fork movement and offers year-round farmers markets and fresh meals sourced directly from over a million acres of regional farmland.
